The site is also a conduit, a means of letting the world know that we are here, that we have a heritage worth knowing about and that the world is welcome to come and join us. Our Community The Cruden community comprises Cruden Bay/Port Erroll, Hatton of Cruden, Whinnyfold, Longhaven, numerous smaller villages, hamlets and farms, bounded in the main by the old Cruden Parish boundaries and is situated only 25 miles north of Aberdeen. Living here in the Cruden community, surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful countryside and coastline, abundant history and friends aplenty, is it any wonder that visitors return time and time again. Old folk with many an interesting tale to tell, locals with many a yarn to spin and a mixed community of many nations, a friendly welcome is guaranteed. Many visitors use Cruden as a base for exploring further afield whilst others never stray far. Do you want a quiet relaxing visit or a strenuous, activity filled break? Do you want to stroll along our 2 miles of golden sands or surf your way across the bay? Do you want to sit awhile and watch the world go by or do you want to explore fantastic countryside by mountain bike and maybe seek out the old railway? You see, it’s entirely up to you. Whatever you decide to do, you can guarantee we will point you in the right direction. After all, we want you to have such a great time, that you will come and visit us again.
